With just a few days to go before
Christmas, I was thinking what are the absolute best Christmas movies
of all time.
And even though there are literally
hundreds of films devoted to raising your holiday spirits, only a few
can be called Christmas Classics.
So, here are my 5 top Christmas films.

5. Die Hard (1988)
Yes the 1988 film starring Bruce Willis
and Alan Rickman is a Christmas movie as much as it is an action
film.
4. Home Alone (1990)
Little
Kevin, played by Macaulay
Culkin gets stranded at home for the holidays and has to defend his
house from two robbers, all the while learning the meaning of
Christmas.
3. The
Nightmare Before Christmas
(1993)
Even
24 years after its release, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before
Christmas still holds up and has even achieved cult status.
2. A
Christmas Story (1983)
Based
on the book “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash,” by Jean
Sheppard. The story of Ralphie and his family have been seriously
embedded in our Christmas traditions.
1. Miracle
on 34th Street (1947)
Miracle
of 34th Street has been remade at least 10 times, but the
favorite is the 1947 version starring Edmond Gwenn, Maureen O'Hara
and a very young Natalie Wood.
Of course there are some honorable mention Christmas films, It's a Wonderful Life, A Muppet Christmas Carol, Family Man, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Elf and Scrooged with Bill Murray.
