New on DVD and Blu-Ray for October 31, 2017 "The Dark Tower" and "Kidnap"

The Dark Tower
Starring: Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey
Rated PG-13
Based on the series of novels by Stephen King, very loosely based that is, is “Dark Tower” which is all about a kid who jumps into another dimension to find the last gunfighter, who is trapped in eternity, and together they face an evil being known as “The Man in Black.

“The Dark Tower” is an excruciatingly bad movie replete overly confusing plot lines, terrible special effects and unintentionally funny dialogue. The film, which takes its story from the 8 Stephen King novels and tries to blend them together, fails miserably at capturing the audience.

Both Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey are completely lost in this epic mess which falls apart after the first 30 minutes into the film.

“The Dark Tower,” is so bad that under the Geneva Convention it should not be allowed to be seen by prisoners.

It gets an F and is rated R.

Starring: Halle Berry
Rated R

Karla Dyson, played by Halle Berry, is unwilling to leave the fate of her son's life in someone else's hands. When she catches a glimpse of the abductors speeding away, she decides to fight back.

"Kidnap" is a disappointing sloppily directed, poorly written mess starring Halle Berry in one gigantic, never-ending minivan chase in which the actress pits her character's motherhood driving skills against a souped-up Mustang GT.

I guess those morning carpools to your kid's school train you for this kind of thing.

From the first scene to the last frame, the film progressively gets dumber and dumber until everything is all wrapped up neatly in one big ridiculous ending that will have you screaming at your TV screen in anguish.

"Kidnap" is one of the worst films of the year and gets an F. It's rated R.
